Pitch Raise/Regular Tuning
A pitch raise requires more time and effort than a regular tuning. If your piano has not been tuned in years, it is more than likely so flat that the chances of fine tuning it in one pass will not hold the strings to their proper tension and pitch. The purpose of a pitch raise is to bring up the piano strings' tension levels before proceding with a fine tuning. It is highly recommended that your piano be tuned at least twice a year to prevent future pitch raises in order to keep your cherished piano healthy.
Repairs
What's that annoying sound? It could be a broken hammer, a string, a damper, a loose flange or the key itself. Are you splintering your thumb or index finger when you slide down the keys like Jerry Lee Lewis? I also repair keytops.
Regulation
Each key has many points of adjustments which need to work together to produce the sound you hear when you play just one note. For example, sometimes the pianist may experience too much or too little key dip. Maybe there are a few keys on your piano that feel a bit sluggish in repetition. Regulation is best described as adjustment of action parts. Action parts
should be regulated to achieve that energy being transfered into the key properly. Remember that your energy starts at the key.
